During my internship with Florida Repertory Theatre, one of our production's of the season, "Forever Plaid," required a costume piece that involved the singing quartet to wear bolero jackets. Based on the designer's vision, they wanted the sleeves to be ruffled and flowy with a strong plaid pattern to go on-theme with the production.
I was given the responsibilities of creating the bolero sleeve layering for four jackets. This involved cutting out the fabric using a pattern shape, then proceeding to hem roll the edge of the layers to prevent fabric fraying. I then stitched the layering onto the sleeve, where marked and continued this process until the garment was finished.
