THE RAKE'S PROGRESS: DISTRESSING

During my internship with Des Moines Metro Opera, our production of the opera "The Rake's Progress," involved a scene where the main character is in an insane asylum for the final act of the opera. The inspiration was to make the clothes look worn and as if it was feces infested.

The distressing was created using acrylic paint, tea, coffee, and methods using sandpaper and scissors.
